Community

At Go Wild Loch Lomond, we work with a social enterprise ethos—creating programmes that help young people grow, connect, and contribute to society. From nature camps to enterprise projects, our focus is on building skills and strengthening community whilst giving back and making a positive impact.

John Muir Award Camps

Each spring and autumn, we host dedicated John Muir Award camps for home-educated young people and their families.

  • The award invites participants to discover, explore, conserve, and share their experiences of wild places.
  • Camps foster connection with nature, encourage active outdoor learning, and inspire creativity.
  • Designed to be inclusive and accessible, the program welcomes young people of all abilities, including those with neurodiverse needs.
  • Time spent together builds appreciation for Scotland’s wild landscapes and a deeper understanding of creation.

These camps provide both an introduction and a pathway for ongoing progress through the John Muir Award levels, allowing participants to grow at their own pace.

Young Persons Business Fair and Enterprise Course

Alongside our outdoor programmes, we support the growth of young entrepreneurs through the Young Persons Business Fair.

  • An 8-week enterprise course (online and in person) equips participants with practical skills in planning, marketing, and presenting their ideas.
  • The course concludes with a celebratory business fair, giving young people the opportunity to showcase and share their projects with a wider audience, gaining real life experience.

Both programmes are designed to build confidence, community, and new opportunities for learning in an inspiring setting.
